Aquinnah (formerly known as Gay Head) – At the far western end of the Island
Aquinnah, is the smallest town on Martha’s Vineyard and is renowned for its lustrous clay cliffs. The Aquinnah Cliffs, a national landmark, stretch for a mile and tower over Moshup’s Beach below.
The Gay Head Lighthouse is one of the first revolving light houses in the country and sits atop the cliffs.
Several boutiques, gift shops and restaurants such as Faith’s Seafood and the Dream Catcher line the path to the cliffs viewing area.
